The article below is satire. Andy Borowitz is an American comedian and New York Times-bestselling author who satirizes the news for his column, "The Borowitz Report."

In the latest setback for the former lawmaker, on Friday Matt Gaetz’s application to be an assistant manager at a south Florida Hooters was flatly rejected.

“As the flagship Hooters of Pompano Beach, we take the responsibility of vetting applicants very seriously,” manager Harland Dorrinson said. “We strongly felt that Matt Gaetz would do irreparable harm to the Hooters brand.”

“To be clear, we are not singling out Matt,” the Hooters manager added. “We would have had the same reaction to Pete Hegseth.”
